New pa 12. Ruined the aft fin yesterday. Didn't hit anything. Ran to the nearest dealer and replaced the fin. Fished late yesterday. Went out this morning the drive drops in and locks in place. Lean back and put the feet in the peddles and the aft portion of the drives lifts and binds. Aft fin being damaged. Discontinued use until. I can figure it out.
Any ideas?

I can only assume that somehow you have a Mirage drive that is missing the alignment pin update for 2012 - please see your dealer and get a pin so that you can't install the Mirage improperly.
Here is a link that show's you the situation that you're experiencing:

I have the same problem on my PA 12.

The Mirage drive likes to sinks down in the front. It looks like its in and when you go to peddle it binds and damages the fin. I never had this problem with my '06 Outback. I didn't ruin the fin, but it popped out and I fixed it at the scene. I have to be really careful to make sure the Mirage drive is seated level. I can only do this if they are slightly apart when I put them in...

What does this "alignment pin" look like?
