Talk to one of the folks on your local Hobie team. While they most probably can't influence the decision makers, they can give you a feel of what type of person Hobie is looking for, expected involvement in the kayak fishing community, experience/results in tournament fishing and the whole process they went through to make the team.

I have found that if you are an established tournament participant with winning results, they will normally seek you out!
