I wonder how it will hold up? I've heard it's worth the extra investment in Hobie branded tramps, so when it was time for me to get one, I bit the bullet and bought the OEM one.

The red looks pretty though, that is certain!

I agree, the original Hobie tramp lasted 30 years!! No doubt they are high quality. BUT slo sail and canvas offered the right color, adjustable hiking straps and a zippered pocket (which BTW is awesome).

The experience I had tightening the lacing (I was not forgiving on the grommets) and using the boat this weekend the tramp has proved to be very durable.

Is it canvas? Just wondering of water will come through it.. I love that about my mesh tramp.

It is vinyl, so it does not drain water through the material. But water buildup isn't much of an issue, especially when flying a hull  Mesh tramps do work well for draining water but I don't like how they spit water up from underneath mostly because it throws your lines all over the place.

They also make a mesh tramp that looks the same. I've had one for 8 years and love it. I did have to install a new zipper on the pocket but that's because someone got to aggressive with it.

I actually love the fact that water comes through the mesh tramp. ;) After moving from a rough lake to a pretty calm one... I enjoy the occasional splash! I miss getting drenched constantly!

I just bought and sold a boat that had a mesh tramp made by SloSails. It was about 4 years old and was holding up pretty good other than a small tear in the front pocket. I don't care for the zippered pouch in the front of the tramp, it gets in the way of the Jib lines.

FYI, in 2011 Hobie made some red H16 trampolines, I don't know if they are still available or not. I tend to think so. Here is a link to a photo of one on the factory website: http://www.hobiecat.com/sailboats/hobie-16/photos/, it's the photo of two guys trapezing on a boat with a red jib. My friend Max Hudson took second place at the youth nationals with a red OEM tramp, so it will obviously make your boat faster!
