Glad you got some wind, we decided to camp up there last minute on Saturday and got skunked the entire weekend. Should have brought the Malibu, it was dead flat both afternoons!

I'm hoping to get up there Thursday afternoon, let me know if you're around.


I got it from Murrays, Surefoot Eva Grip Kit. I'm sure you can find it cheaper, but they ship everything the same day if your order is placed in the morning, and they're 3 days to me with ground, so I know exactly when I'll get it.

So far it's working pretty well, although stepping the mast and dragging the trap bungee lines forward from the rear of the tramp has already started to lift the bottom edge in some places. I'll just unclip the bungees from now on, which should solve that problem. As far as grip and comfort goes, I really like it, much better than the carpet IMO.

Here's a pic from Sunday, the boat spent the entire weekend parked, there was NO wind either day, which is very uncommon for our lakes.



If anyone know of a Carumba jib that's available somewhere let me know, I'd love to have a matching set of sails again.

Some more goodies arrived, now I've got everything to rebuild my trap lines, replace both halyards, and swap out the downhaul and outhaul, as they're looking a little ragged.



What's the recommend length of the trap adjustment line between the bungee and handle?

Nice! I love it when new boat bling shows up in the mail! I just scored a Harken 6:1 setup for my old 16 the other day (ebay)!
I can check my trap lines later this eve if no one posts up in the mean time!

Nice! New main blocks are on my list, but I haven't been able to find a deal on them, so I'm just trying to talk myself into biting the bullet and ordering a new set.

My ropes are just over 2 feet from the bungee hook to the cant miss handle (not counting the knots). Prolly 2'2" if you count the wrap around the rope lock. No clue if thats "right" but it works! Thats what came with my rigging kit from Salty dog. You still planning on Cultus tomorrow?

Language Police Here.

The only rope on a Hobie Cat is the bolt rope of the main sail. The rest are lines. I corrected a deputy sheriff at the boat ramp the other day as he called his dock line a rope. I got a dirty look from him too.

Awesome, thanks for the link. I had seen the text from the "On the Wire" article, but those pictures are a huge help.

they work good but i need to take a dremal to the thing the held up the double block before the change.
