Hey gang. Just got my new Outfitter. Everyone here was very helpful in the selection. Thanks much.

Second day out I put my seat a little more upright sat back and...SNAP! The plastic eyelet where the seat clasp connects broke right off (the plug is still in just the top part is gone).

I weigh about 220. Did I exceed the breaking point of this little guy or is it more likely I just got one that was weaker than average?

Any suggestions on how to go about fixing this? Perhaps replacing it with a steel dohickey?

Thanks much for your help!

Burt

The eyelet is a screw-in fitting and can be replaced.

We have not seen a lot of failures, but have failed some during installation, so we have gone to a non-fiber-filled nylon for more overall breaking strength. The nylon may distort a bit more, but should not shear like the glass-filled version. Not sure the dates of the change or even if they are in current boat production yet.

In any case... very sorry for the problem. Contact a dealer for the replacement parts under warranty.

No worries Matt. I was able to hook into the eyelet to the left of the storage compartment on the deck so the day was not a total loss. I'll give my dealer a hollar. Thanks much.
