Installed the new YakAttack geartracs this week. I put 2 of the 12" GT90s on the forward gunwales of my Revo. This newer version is much more narrow than the originals and it made for a very easy install. The product is solid yet very lightweight. There is a full-length aluminum backing plate which is threaded (did not realize this at first). The edges are smooth and it has a very low profile.

2-12" GT90s and 1-8" GT90 (for a later application)

The inside shows a clean install that does not interfere with the rudder lines. My only problem is that I didn't realize that I didn't need the nyloc nuts and I could not get them to tighten all the way. The backing bar is threaded and holds the track in very well. I am going to leave the nyloc nuts there for now but I may remove them in the near future.

You might try nylon caps for the bolts since the rudder up/down lines do run through that vicinity. You wouldn't want the line to chafe under pressure every time you put the rudder up or down. Did you apply any loctite to the threads or use some kind of goop or silicone sealant around the holes?

Thanks Bob,

I think the nylon tips suggestion is a great idea.

In regards to your question, I did dip each bolt into some marine goop.
I also used a drill bit (9/64) that was slightly smaller than the bolt diameter which made for a snug fit where the bolts bored new threading in each hole.

Mount? I thought the fun was doing the mods?

Starters will be the rod holders and I plan on adding fish finders/depth finders. I look forward to seeing the other options this creative community thinks of..
