Can anyone tell me where to get a vintage Mirage Kayak seat form 2006 or earlier?

Current seats will fit older boats. If it is the original Classic with molded-in inserts... you remove the pegs and bolt through the holes... same spacing has been used all along.

Thanks Matt. The new Hobie seats, while they will fit, do not offer the same support as the earlier ones.

The current seats (81269001) are a bit taller and offer better support than models from a couple years ago.

Hi Matt,
how difficult is the bolting in of the new style seatback? I have 2 mirage classics and need replacement seats after the recent winds from Sandy. Also are these the only seats currently available for our Yaks?
Thanks,
Bob

The classic had threaded inserts molded into the seat area that the seats bolt to. Just unscrew the old seat and use the same screws through the new seat. You have to open the Velcro at the junction of the seat back and seat bottom to expose the hardware for the current system and remove it.

We have a few older vintages of seats in stock. Check with your dealer and have them contact our parts department staff.

Right now we show 2009-2010 and current versions in stock (in the catalog).

Hey Nancy, I have 2 seats from that era, one a 2005 vintage that is in "perfect" shape although lots of miles on it and another from 2006 that has a broken brass snap hook that attached it to the kayak's forward cleat, could easily be fixed. I've replaced both with what we believe to be better seats so these are available to you if you want them.
Since they are old and since we've certainly gotten our fair use of them I would give them to you for free just to see them be usefull to someone instead of collecting dust.
We live in the Tampa Bay area.
Maybe we can arrange something... I don't want to pay for shipping myself.
