I worked out this stand that doubles as rod holder. I remove it, place it under the rear handle and lift. Light easy design that allows me to put the wheels on or off easily. I disliked rolling the yak on it's.

Bill, Thanks...I have been to Bremerton Wa. and north to the coast . That state is so beautiful . My regrets in the design: That I did not make it out of uv resistant PVC. It would have already been gray and I would not have had to paint it . Cheap parts to acquire and make. Anyone want help with one... just ask ... The rack/stand is so light and it is so easy to lift the yak onto it...

I love the stand. I also hate rolling my PA12 on to its side. Especially after I have it fully loaded.

Any chance that you could post pipe size, fittings list, demensions?

Thanks.

Great idea, been thinking about this for a while. I'll need to alter the design for New Jersey. I often launch around sod banks and the two open tubes would sink in the mud. So what I'll do is fit a crosspiece with two elbows at the base and hopefully I'll get the wheels on before it sinks in the mud. Two questions if you wouldn't mind, what height did you make it for and how do you keep the brace from popping out from under the handle. Thanks Frank

If you filled the bottom of the two legs with expansion foam it would keep the mud out of the legs and may hold the boat up. Then you could still use the legs in the rod mount holes. Just a thought . I will measure the stand's height. and get back. When I built the stand it was slipping off the rear handle easily. I set it on the stand, marked the location for two studs inside the handle (one on each side), drilled a 1/2 inch hole, inserted a rubber grommet with a tightening nut inside, then used a ss 5/16 nut and a 1/4 x 1.5 inch ss screw through the nut and into the insert. Now it stays in place easily. If you want I will give more pics and measurements .
