My current main sheet is 3/8" spun dacron. I have the old 3 Harken singles setup on the boom. My main problem is the 3/8" line and the traveler.

My main question is: Will Salsa run more smoothly thru the blocks? As in 3/8" Salsa vs. 3/8" Sta-Set. Or should I get 5/16" Salsa?

I also plan to upgrade the boom blocks to a triple w/ becket.

Salsa is very nice. Just got a billion dollars worth for my sheet.

I have Salsa for my jib and LOVE it...

however it's very soft, so it easily gets cleated accienteally between the cam cleat... say if you kneel on the tramp, on the line and something pulls the line.. it'll slip into the cleat... so you and crew have to watch that. otherwise it's great.

I have Robline for my spin... I like Salsa better...

Finally, I have the old school spun dacron for the mainsheet and it's my favorite... YES, it gets heavy when wet... BUT, it's fat, literally (7/16 I think) so it's very easy to hold... and it's fuzzy.. so it's soft... and because it's a bit heavy when wet it doesn't wash off the tramp, and if I'm on the wire I think it's weight makes it easier to "fling" back on the tramp if it starts coming off... lighter line is hard to "fling" when you're going Mach 2.....
Cheers, Rob.
