Got my first fishing kayak PA12 a month ago. I try to utilize every square inch of space on the rear deck. It seems that the plug in cart stored behind the seat in the scupper hole is taking too much precious real estate. I by accident discover the gap in between the rear handle and the stern is the perfect place for it. Now I have the entire rear deck for the stuffs. :)

My PA14 always has a clear deck. I store the cart in the back of my Durango because I have yet to have a need for it while on the water.

Just be careful if your backing into the weeds along the grass line. It might get pushed up and you won't know it until to late. Would work fine if you put a velcro wrap around both the cart and the handle.

That's where I store mine as well. Haven't had an issue with it yet and it sure is nice to be a little closer to the cooler and other gear that I have stored behind the seat since the wheels aren't there taking up space. Depending on where I launch I have left them in the truck on occasion but they come in handy even when on the water if the falling tide leaves you on the wrong side of a sandbar!!

I can only assume that you never troll a lure, or had a hooked fish circle your boat. Because either one would be the last time you stored your cart there.

agreed

I have the trax 2 cart, I just pop the wheels off and throw em in my front hatch and plug the cart into the scupper upside down.

IMO if the cart is taking up "too much precious real estate" then u are taking way too much stuff with ya.

With the wheels stored in the rear handle the posts don't touch the water so neither trolling or fighting fish is inhibited. Not to mention if you're worried about a fish wrapping up that way then you need to find a new way to steer bc your rudder would be in the way long before the cart posts would ever be a factor!!

yer line could just get tangled up on the wheels instead.
