I have an '82 14 turbo. Does anyone know if the bridle wires on this boat should be the same length as those on later boats which use bow tangs, rather than shackles and plates? It seems to have toomuch mast rake, and I was wondering if the couple of inches difference in the mounting point is a problem.
Thanks, Dave

The 14 and 16 both carry allot of mast rake. I would suspect that it is ok. Here is the stock Turbo Bridle length to compare (3' 10" pin to pin). I think the dimension of the old tang with shackle is quite similar to the newer tang. Should be little overall difference. The Turbo started out with that tang anyway, I am pretty sure.

Thanks- I was just wondering. When I installed the wires I didn't notice any problems per se, but when I installed the newer mast step-link kit, I found that themast base hits it during rotation, and was wondering if newer wires might be longer to compensate for the different mounts at the bow. The boat still sails well, I just remove the step link after stepping the mast. Thanks again- Dave
