I believe that far and away the best aka mounts are the Railblaza ones, which are designed specifically for Islands.

Cheers tony. Have just ordered a few. Now I need to find a way to adapt the scotty parts I have to fit the star ports.

Cheers

Copy that. Railblazza mounts totally rock on the island. I exchanged all my ram mounts to Railblazza mounts and they are far more stable than the ram mounts.

Peace

A couple of questions.

Which accessory would you prefer.
A Railblaza adaptor allowing you to fit any Railblaza product in a Scotty Mount?

Hi Bill.

Having tried them all I'd opt for:

A Railblaza adaptor allowing you to fit any Scotty product in a Railblaza Mount

The RAM thing would be very cheap and easy to do, through the adaptors, but I'm not tempted to put the RAM rodholders back on my AI, even though I could.

Someone might want to do this for light electronics or camera gear though.

Here is my solution.

Using two trackmount starports you can fix a geartrac GT90 using railblaza starport adapters screwed into the track at both ends.

You can then fit all the yakattack products, scotty mounts etc.

Job done.

Anybody know where to get the piece that's between the starport adapters and the geartrac. i like this idea but can't find it and i think it adds some stability instead of just cranking down the startport adapter.

Thanks.
