I removed my SX wings over the summer, primarily to stow them due to the storms we had (boat sits on beach year-round), but also to sail without them for fun. I like having the option to take them on and off at will to suit my sailing style.
Here's my problem..the locknuts on the 4 studs had never been removed, and were really tight. When I unbolted the wings, the studs came out of the slugs in the crossbar instead of the nuts coming off the studs.
I bought a new set of studs and nuts, but won't this happen again when I remove the nuts?
I was thinking about putting some blue locktite on the studs, but maybe that's a bad idea. How do the wing-sailors out there overcome this?

An Allen key should fit in the end of the stud that sticks out. You can use the Allen key to keep the stud from rotating, and an open wrench to turn the nut.

Wow, too easy. Never noticed the end was keyed for an allen wrench.
Thanks for the quick reply.
