Gonzo,
Very nice! I have a Tiger and am thinking of the rudder upgrade. What can you tell me about how the Wildcat system fits on a Tiger?
Isn't the Wildcat rudder casting taller than the Tiger?

Since I'm writing, did you move dagers forward to miss the shrouds? Did you change the whole trunk or install an insert?
Thanks,
Dan in Hawaii

HI!!Well.....
The ruder Upgrate is increible!!!, because the WildCat´s works more eficient and never go in stall. less drag. In the instalation, U mast to get out the drain plug, and, mas to relocalice the fits, and put reinforce in the insithe, and retire the older fits. Must to aliniate, it´s no dificult, may be 8 hs of lab. The ruder sistem is Exactly the same to the wildcat tall, it can be done easy. The diference in control betwen the older rudes is giant.
The daggers Fit perfect, exactly in the midle, I did a micarta instalations ( the same as the Phantom Project ) I desig the same Whitout know, the Phantom exist. Idem, the diference for the dagger is very big. the new tiger is realy faster tan a wildcat!!, but the most important diference i think is the mastil, it helps to make it faster, the new wind is the real diference.

Gonzolo,
If you rank which upgrade made the most difference, what order would you put them in?
1. Rudders
2. Mast and sails
3. dagerboards

Also, are you using the whole dagerboard when sailing in wind over 15 knots?
I ask because it's always this windy where I sail.
A wildCat broke a dagerboard in winds around 18 knots here.
I could easily use a dagerboard that is shorter than a WildCats.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan!!!
First, _Mast and Sails!! this is the key!, the shape of the new mast, and F-18 sails make bit diference!!!!
2° the rudders, the wildcat are increible, The diference between ald tiger and new wildcat is very big, u can feel the boat more soft, but with a big response!, they are sharper, so make les drag too.
About dagger boards, i think this was the most dificult adaptation!,
the length of the dagger in the water is the same used in any boat. With 15 knots, u mast to put the daggers up, if not u will broken it!!
In my case a broke, one in a race, with a hiden tree, and oter with the gennaker up, the dagger was too lower, and she explote..!!!
but the real diference with the wilcat daggers is that thei are, longer ( low wind ) and thiner ( les drag ).
There are other modification made in the hole boat.
I hope this was clear.
Regards.
Gonzalo!

Gonzalo, brown water?
I like your analogy of sailing fast in the wrong direction!
I've been there.
I was planning on getting new sails already so, that would be your first upgrade.
Rudders would be next, I've been looking at all the F18 rudder systems and like the wildCats. I've already sent an email to my Hobie dealer for prices.
We always sail in 15+ so no need for long WildCat daggerboards, I'll keep looking. Maybe shorter WildCat boards or something custom?

Great pictures. How much difference do you think it would have made if you and your crew had more time on the boat before the regatta?

HI!!
I think the best upgrade is the sails and the mast
Yes if u are always sailing in 15+ for sure u don´t need long daggers.
Well in a straight line, i think is the fastest, more than a wild cat, or a Phantom, but we have problems whit the cordination and manouvers too
But, whit a big training, we could be in the first 5 places!!

Thanks, regards!!!
