On the subject of hooks,
Matt what are the chances of making the halyard hook with a keeper on it?
I LOVE my 'cheesy hooks' and flaunt them shamelessly at my buddies rigging their F18's. I kept the stock main top block just because of the hook, deciding when it fails I'll replace with the better Harken. Two years, and tons of regattas, later no visible wear yet.
The halyard hook is an issue tho, when dropping the sail. It will come out of the of the grommet and the sail comes down without the halyard. Kathy K. told me years ago to tie a 8 thru the top of hook and run it continuous. That works, but a keeper on the hook would work better.
