Hey, in my engineering class my group is working to make a boat lift that is designed specifically for catamarans. We have a short survey we made to find out what features are most wanted by people who own these boats. If you can fill it out, it would be greatly appreciated!

The problem is there are so many different variations in docks, tides, storms, prevalent wind direction. What about barnacles? Salt water and materials? Does the boat has 'wings' or not? Will the dock have a ramp area to beach on? Permit issues... These were some of my considerations.

I ended up making a custom ramp that also lifts to get up and over my seawall. I looked and looked for a COT solution, but there were none. It cost me a lot more than it should to build and still doesn't do everything I'd like.

I applaud your thoughts and effort. Good luck with your project! I know it's hard to find a one size fits all answer to this and still remain affordable.
