Hi

I sail at sea and I need a cat that is durable and good for sailing solo or with friends. The wave seems too little and slow for me - so I thought about the Getawey .
Is it suitable for one sailor to handle ? Or is it for a minimum crew
of 2-3 ?

Thanks

My Getaway sails best when I am by myself! But don't tell the wife that...

Absolutely. The Getaway is a lot of fun solo, and can carry a whole crew when you want to party.

The boat is very easy to sail, and you can even set it up solo (a mast raising device helps, but is not absolutely necessary).

Have fun!

I havn't been able to set it up solo...and we have a mast stepping device...im a small guy 5'10" 145 LB..so raising the mast is a lot for me to handle+I dont trust the winch on my trailer...haha

Sailing wouldnt be a problem though!

i love my getaway, very easy to sail solo in higher winds esp with traveller...i dont feel it reacts to chop over 2' very well (as well as my monohull hunter 146 did anyway)

Marc985, you mentioned you use a mast steping device. Which one did you get?

I've considered getting one, but the info I found always state that it shouldn't be used with mast that must be sideways when being raised, which is the case of the Getaway.

Any word of advice?
