i have 21 se with sabre main with fiberglas stick in head instead of bolt rope. that is the top 8 inches. Any ways it is starting to pop out of track occasionally and is ripping up sail. any one had problems with this. i am having new bolt rope put on sail. Is there a fix if it is the comptip, causing problem? The 17s have section of aluminum, is that available for the 21se?

Ted,

The 18,20 and both 21's show the same plastic com-tip luff track in the manual.
There is an updated aluminum section for the 18 and 20 so it would seem that it
should fit the 21se as well. The old 21sc parts manual also shows this aluminum section with the same part number as the rest.

Pete

I replaced my plastic track w/ aluminum and am quite happy with it, but did leave one section stock. Matt cautioned me as to the reason the upper comptip tracks are plastic is for electrical isolation from the rest of the mast and boat.

I've got exact same issue on my H17. I've installed the aluminum luff update and it solved the problem. There are a few non-trivial issues with installing the part. Check this thread:
