Has anyone installed the Lowrance Elite 4 DSI fishfinder into their 2012 PA12? Does that little cigar looking transducer fit/work in the PA12 "Lowrance" preinstalled setup?

If you do a SEARCH on the Elite 4 DSI you will find several posts about installing this fishfinder.

I have the Lowrance Elite 4-DSI on my 2012 PA-12 and yes that cigar shaped (DSI) transducer works perfectly with the Hobie Cat mounting system. Go to the Hobie Cat website and look at the video they have there on installing a Lowrance fishfinder on the PA-12. The PA-12 comes with a supply of through hull fittings and a small bag of screws, nuts, and small metal brackets to mount the transducer. It sounds complicated at first but once you see what you are going to do it is simple. The transducer has a thick black wire protruding from it that leads all the way back to the fishfinder. With that fishfinder there is another black cylindrical item about 1.5" long. I just want to make sure that item is not what you are thinking is the transducer. That must be installed between the battery and the wiring harness. The manual says that item must be installed if you have a DSI system.

I also added a 3-Amp in-line fuse like the manual suggests.

You will like that unit. The screen is slightly smaller than a conventional one but on a kayak with limited space it works great.
