If I purchase a 2012 or older Pro Angler can I put the new 2013 seats on them?

Have you priced the seat?

No - there isn't a way to convert to the Vantage seat unless the boat has the required built in structure to support it. Sorry. If you want the new seat you need the current design kayak, same with putting an old style seat onto a new hull, that also isn't something that is possible.

I don't want to assume anything, but if you haven't, you should try the older seat. You might prefer it.

I looked at the older seats and I was not for sure if they were low enough for a comfortable paddling.

If the paddle is long enough I suspect it would be, although I've never bothered to paddle my PA.

There is so many options for the seat area on the Pa's. I have seen plush boat style seats installed and everything in between. I would google Pro Angler seat mods or changing seat on Pro Angler.

To the root of your question...

Paddling is not a strong suit for the Pro Angler and why we consider it a Boat rather than a Kayak in our line.

If I were to choose a boat for paddle and pedal, I'd look at the Revolution or Adventure models.

Revo paddles well some correction needed, the adventure paddles very well

Here's a pic of a seat mod that i mentioned in my above post. Very very simple to do. This is the seat i had in my Outback. I found this pic in Hobie's archives.

i sure would like to see the bottom side of the yak with the trolling motor fixed in that location. Wow, someone has learned a really good way to seal holes in the bottom of the yak.

I imagine that's just the powerhead mounting location.

OH, does that mean that the shaft does not go all the way through the yak in that location?
