Yesterday, I could not pass up sunny 72 sw 10 knots. I set sail at 2 in the afternoon heading west for a fun ride. I put I at 11st Moerhead city and thinking I could beat west to my home port of Gull Harbor 7 miles away. Other than having to point has high as my old Hobie could go it was absolutely perfect. As it got to 4 o'clock I realized either the last mile would be in the dark or make landfall short of target. Luckily my parents live at camp morehead so I put in there. This am after doing those chores necessary to keep mama happy I headed out. I was at my house at 12:47. Headed towards the boat. I was on the water under way at 1:06. 19 minutes from home to sailing, I impressed myself. Winds SSW steady 10 built to 15 as afternoon came on. I could lock lines and fly 1 hull adjusting only with rudder the entire 2 mile run to Atlantic Beach, pine knoll shores. It was hard to believe I went sailing on the last two days of fall. I was a picture perfect afternoon. Wish I took some, maybe next time.

It has been mild enough and the wind so decent I wish we had taken her out a fee times this fall. Love the story, thanks for sharing your Hobie Day On1Hull!
(LOL when I look at 11th street on Bing Maps I see a number of beach cats)

Make plans to come sail carteret county this summer (or sooner). BTW I see you are in Charlotte. My daughter is assistant softball coach at Queens University.
