this is a ridiculous thing to need to post, but i want to make sure i am transparent.
i have tournament sponsors. i dont work in the kayak/fishing/boating business nor does my family. no one pays me or pays for my opinions or anything like that. i will gladly brag about the gear i use and believe in, but i dare anyone to find me being a 'salesman'.
i know this is stupid to have to post, but it is a long story with a disappointing ending on another forum that i will not name.
i know there are plenty of other sponsored anglers on here, and you are scratching your heads as to why i posted this silly thing, but again, i just want to ensure that there is no chance of me being labeled as to having a 'hidden agenda'. my sponsors reputations are important to me, but most important to me, is MY reputation and i want to keep it clean.

cheers.
drew

I've got no problems with that. One thing though, just to be fair to your sponsors you might find a different way to display them on your posts. Livingston lures can't really be seen without scrolling over to that side of the screen.

Shows up on all my screens..15" to 30" on normal not zoomed imaging.

If I have a product I really like I tell everyone and usually get a couple so others can try and more fun to share...can you say 4 Hobies...

Drew, I am a sponsor and always appreciate great comments from people who are on our pro staff and from folks who just love to use our products!!! While we do have some expectations from our pro staff to "promote" our product, we hopefully wish to see some good judgement used by these folks.

When we select our pro staff we are looking not only at folks who have a good fishing resume, but who also have a good business sense and reputation within the community.

It seems that lately, some folks seem to think that they can't even go take a dump without mentioning the fact they took a certain brand rod/lure with them. It's like " I couldn't have done this without my XXX rod"

Some of these Product Ho's have ruined it as of late for many who are sponsored by a company/product and want to do a good job for their sponsors.

Drew, I'm a freelance gun writer, and empathize with you completely. Hardly a day passes on the shooting forums when I and other writers get accused of being product shills. (And from the other side of their mouth, those same accusers demand to have every new product reviewed the instant it is out...)

While there certainly are people out there who dishonestly present themselves as legitimate reviewers, they are a distinct minority who get "outed" in no time. Genuine reviewers are selected for their experience, their knowledge, and for their ability to communicate - quite an uncommon trifecta these days.

You fill the bill.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I've been 'in the game' with sponsorship for over a decade an had some great support. I'd like to think I know how to represent without being 'showy' or untactful, but if anyone does think I overstep the line of good taste, by all means let me know.

And I really didn't mean for this to be a big deal. But after those ugly remarks, i thought I should ensure I was not offending anyone on any of the forums I frequent.

Cheers
Drew

uno mas;

I am a buisness owner of 20 years and have been visiting this site now for 2+ months.
My opinion is you have conducted yourself professionally.

Do not let one or two comments judge yourself, I think your reputation on this site would have indcated as such.

keep on being you.
