Don't know where they came from, but they wouldn't be the first. They could have just painted an old set of EPOs red with rattle-can paint. Back in the '70s, you could buy fiberglass ones in a dozen different colors.

On the 16 and 14, you can make your own as long as they're the same outline profile and fit the thickness / weight restrictions in the class rules. Brazilians used to make wooden ones that were like furniture.

Not to worry Tom,pretty sure Steve won't be sending me anything real soon.(I have been a good foot soildier and not mentioned the "Worl.....s, word at all lately.)
Maybe I will just have to paint mine Poka Dot (green ,red, blue and yellow) then get a custom Sail colour to match.Might not win me any races but it would be high on the cool factor :)

Foils can be made in all sorts of colours depending on your choice. You will of course have to pay extra to make them. In India we have a completely brown rudder - mad of wood and fiberglass.

I've been thinking about doing mine a different color when I refinish some old EPOs. Can I refinish them with the standard West Systems with graphite powder and then spray paint the finished product?

That's what I did but stayed with black paint. There's some threads about this on the forums.

That's what I was going off of. I was wondering if anyone had done any colors other than black or white with the spray paint. I would think that paint chips would show the black underneath.

I saw some photos from the US Sailing Multihull Championships in Sausalito, CA, last week, and noticed that HCANA president Pat Porter's boat was sporting red EPOs. I couldn't download the photo, but here's a link to it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ussailing/ ... 411886112/. Check out #108000.
