Have you ever seen the water junmping through that little hole at the top of your mirage drive velocimeter? WOOOW I´m still shocked after that vision i had last weekend.

After reading several posts on that and other forums i decided to test the idea of using a kite instead of the sail kit as a way of improving the performance of sailing my kayak. The main difference was 1,88 sqr meters of the sail kit vs. 14 sqr meters of the kite. WHAT A CRAZY HORSE !!!

Wow, that was speed and acceleration feeling. Also a good way to share the sailing with a friend as its very important to coordinate moves of both the kiter and the kayaker. If not, its easy to tip over, even if you use the ultrastable Outfitter´s hull.

This weekend will continue the experiment using homemade daggerboard and bigger rudder.

I´m trying to post 2 pics but no idea how.. could anyone explain ?

You first need to get the picture up on a picture share site somewhere then right click it - goto properties - then highlight and copy the link to the pic. to put it into the post here. To post a pic then you click the [img] tag bottom and paste the link after it then click the [img] botton again.
And make sure the 'disable bbcode' box is not checked in the reply page... that should do it.

Thanks Fyr, for the link you posted. That is really extreme for me, but watching the video i realised that, to easier handling of the kite a string can be added to the kayak to hold the kite pull.

I finally could post a link that will allow you to see the pics. However they´re not very good. Next will be better !

Looks like fun !

I saw that there was a woman just finishing a crosssing of the north atlantic with a kite-pulled boat

Thanks Fyr, for you comments and links here you have the link with my newest picture report:

http://story-of-a-sailing-kayak.blogspot.com/

This weekend my"sock model" daggerboard and rudder finally alowed us to sail my outfitter using a 14 sqr meter kite. The crazy horse became less crazy; we sailed over 6 knots with a perfect control and steering.

Anyway i need to upgrade with an ama as shown in the link you sent me, to enjoy other more windy days. Maybe next weeks...

Of course, all ideas and comments to improve the mix will be wellcome.
