These cracks are on the rudder mount (not sure of exact term) on A H16 that I am considering for purchase. Hull is in great shape otherwise. Cosmetic or serious? Thanks for any help. Hope that the pic shows up.

No biggie, very common. Check the hulls carefully for soft spots!

Thank you! Are soft spots in the hulls acceptable or should they be avoided completely? I believe this boat may have a baseball size spot.

Small areas are repairable. There is a description of a resin injection technique in the sailing FAQ.

Note... the boat has been painted.

Thank you Matt. Is that an issue as well? What should I look for in that respect (the hulls being painted)? Still havent seen it in person as it is 4 hrs away. Trying to establish if it is worth the trip. Thanks for the help. Brand new to this.
