How far does the e2 penetrate below the hull?
I fish in some shallow water & am afraid sandbars or oyster beds will damage motor/prop/shaft.

It extends eleven inches below my Outback, I would assume it is close to that on the PA.

Does the eVolve 2 battery have to be located on topside of the kayak for the GPS to work? I assume it can't see the satellites if it is secured within the hull?

I have the battery mounted in the front of my Revo,
It works fine.
I found that using high density foam to sit the battery on,
It holds the battery firmly against the underside of the hull
And doesn't roll around.
Cheers,
Montedane.

Cheers mate...thanks for the feedback on your experience. By "works fine", I am assuming that your control device is able to track speed over ground even though it is inside the Yak. Let me know otherwise.
G'day.

I have found the answer on the Torqeedo website concerning battery location inside the hull so as to maintain GPS capability.

I quote here:
"Insert the battery in the desired position in the kayak and fix it if necessary with straps (not supplied as standard). When doing so ensure that the top of the battery (aerial icon) is showing upwards in order to provide the GPS function. Do not cover the battery with metallic objects or those containing metal (e.g. rescue blankets etc.)".

GPS works fine inside the hull. I use it in both a Rev 11 and Outback. I haven't tried the mirage drive mount yet, I use it on the rudder.
