Looking a closer, the paddle shaft appears to terminate inside blade. Then there's a wall, or stopper on the other end, near where the two halves go together. This should keep the water out. However, I can hear water running the length of the shaft from the end where the stopper is, to inside the paddle blade. It's very curious how it got in there. I've tried putting more water in the shaft, but the water level stays steady, and is unable to get past the stopper. How it got in, I don't know, but it's not coming out. My only solution is to drill a hole in the stopper to let the water drain. Of course, this isn't desirable, as this makes water entry more easy while underway.
