Well, first king for me anyway.
Headed out late yesterday morning since I was going solo. Beach was fairly empty, no other kayakers challenging the wind and waves. The cold breeze was coming out of the NW strong and it helped to push me out to 275' pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the current was ripping so bad jigging was impossible, even with 7oz jigs. The waves weren't big, but they were the little 2-3ft hull slappers that remind you that you cannot stay dry in a kayak offshore.
Came back into 150' with a live goggle-eye in tow and intent on jigging a bit. After drifting a bit my livebait rig starts screaming and I try to keep calm and NOT lock up the drag like I did 2 weeks ago (when I lost a sail) and after a nice little fight came up with a 37" Kingfish
