Here is a pic from yesterday taken from the Saanich peninsula looking east towards the San Juan Islands and Washington state. Beauty morning to be fishing but flat clam so the sailing wasn't happening.

Lovely shot t². Looks like a fine contender for the 2013 Photo Competition. Unfortunately, Slaughter seems to have packed his AI and taken off to Tasmania for a month, without initiating the thread. We may have to get it started in his absence.

T2,

Great pic. Good to see someone else from this part of the world on the forum. I sail a TI in south Puget Sound, but have paddled a kayak in the Gulf Islands several times. Mostly I recall the water up there being pretty lumpy. Enjoy the calm.

Puget--you're right re the lump. That beach has a webcam on it connected to the local kite boarding site with good reason--anything from the southeast has a nice long reach to build into some substantial waves. It is nice to have some input from someone local. I was in Seattle a few weeks ago for the boat show--the dealer who had the Hobie display at the show should have put me on commission-I was enthusing about fishing/sailing the AI to several of his potential customers.
Cheers,
T2
