The H14 has a wire that crosses under the tramp that the jib blocks hook to. Would it be possible or safe to do the same with the getaway? You could take out the coolers and install a small support block on the inside of the hull, run a wire across and install 2 small blocks through the hole in the tramp. Then you could put a larger jib to use on light days. Maybe even a stock 16 sail would fit?

Anything is possible, I would however use grommets instead of altering the hulls, make sure the grommets are put in good, you are sheeting the jib from them, a larger mainsail would be easier and prob. add more speed than a larger jib.

That would then most likely necessatate increasing the luff which would in turn mean increasing the mast height and all the other things this would include. It would also cost more (I think) than the $350 for a larger jib. I suppose one could get a main with a longer foot and put a boom on it. Humm too much to think about. Maybe someone has some ideas.
