Hey everyone! I am looking for advice on purchasing a 2001 Hobie 16 with upgrades (new tramp, new jib, new neoprene trap grip on side, epos rudders, new jib sheet/spectra line, new racing cunningham system and racing tiller extension, for $4800 including trailer. Does this sound like a good bet? I would like some advice before driving 8 hours to FL to look at it this weekend. The person selling it just moved to a F18 type boat but used to race this boat competitively. My brother and I are new to sailing and are going in on this together. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you!!

If the Florida location is anywhere near Panama City Beach, let me know and I could help you when you go to look at the boat.

I think I spoke to the seller when I was looking to buy last week. Looked like a good deal to me! The only reason I didn't move on it is the distance from my location (Iowa). Good luck!

Do not know his name, but he has been around a long time, Well known down there and big into racing. He has had that boat for sale for a while. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=42993

This was back from May. For $4500 I think that is a pretty good deal, comes with extras. I also believe that is in very good shape.
