Spent yesterday wiring up the new Samsung flexible, transparent, adhesive computer screen to the AI and finally decided to mount it on the sail. Pretty easy installation really however it's not ready for a sea trial just yet. Still needs some waterproofing but I think the ergonomics are pretty good. The only problem with attaching it to the sail is that being also a touch screen, I haven't quite got right the resistance pressure when doing tasks with the finger, but there is a sensitivity setting somewhere in the software mounted in the 'red box'.

Stringy, you were going to mount yours on the hull somewhere. Did you find that sensitivity setting ?

SeaBreeze is an Australian weather prediction website that will certainly come in handy when out in a force 10.

Watch out. I'll now be able to keep up to date with your every move on the Hobie forum.

The 'Red Box', mounted via a self adhesive pad to the front hatch cover. Still needs more waterproofing though.

Did you hear that Red Bull have demoted Vettel to the Torro Rosso team for one race because he disobeyed order in the Malaysian GP?

What size is it and what price is it in USD ? Can you watch a full HD movie on a 54 inches screen in the sail ? :P

Tony – Yeah, I saw that news flash on my new screen. Also saw Dick Johnsons new car for next year. Have you seen that yet ?

Stringy – I was going to mount mine there but couldn’t really reach it. Your toe nails must be longer than mine.

Lomcevak - More like 14”. Full HD movie, not a problem. This new night time backlight technology is amazing. Our next Hobie overnighter is going to be like going to a drive –in movie.

NOHUHU - Dunno if they are available in the States yet. Australia seems to be the test ground for all Asian electrical technologies ( or dumping ground ). But $100 should cover it. Oh sorry…that’s $100 Aussie dollars which is about $600 US dollars at the moment. Because you and me ‘go way back’ if you send me over $100 I’ll see what I can do.

I know! ALL the good stuff seems to come out of Australia. Wave deflectors, kayak loaders, vegemite,.. and then there's the "Lord of the Rings", and the WETA!

So thanks, mate! I want to be the first in the states with that display.

Tell ya what, I'll send down a case of sprayskirts too, just to round out the deal.

Geez, don't let a New Zealander hear you say that. That's like Americans appropriating Neil Young and Joni Mitchell.

I'm just starting to realise the full potential of Slaughters screen and I reckon where he has it mounted on the sail is best. That way you can watch all the AI/TI Youtube clips while actually out sailing. How cool is that?!

When NOHUHU gets a hold of this, he's going to be a big hit with the passing boaters... you know... broadcasting supermodels on his sail all day...

All I would need is a wireless camera feed and a satellite transmission and we can do live video next EC :) The boat is going to have to learn to steer without me. Too many other things to do. Does the Asian market have thin film cameras? Stick those all over the boat.

Now to solve man's Achilles Heel, the battery. Since dawn of electricity this has been the main limiting factor...
