Thanks to Nohuhu I know ‘haka’ means seat and as I've often posted here before, adding haka to an Island is the best mod I’ve done.
But haka can be more than just a seat. Captain Chaos and Chekika have shown that they make great tables for camping.
Here is another use for them that increases their versatility. They make a great base for a gear trolley –just add a cart.
We recently tried to drag our fully laden TI up and over a very soft sandy beach. It was impossible to move it with all our gear aboard. So we emptied it and used the haka as a stretcher to carry the gear separately. Once empty the TI was easy to move.
Converting the haka to a trolley makes it simpler to ferry gear than the two person 'stretcher'. It doesn’t require any extra equipment either and once everything is carried to the waters edge it’s easy to convert it back to a seat. Just remove the cart.
I added some aluminium bar top and bottom of the haka. 25mm holes were cut into the bar at cart post distance, creating a scupper like support for the plug in cart.
