Eric, the easiest way to remove that awful new boat smell is to slime it a few times. If that will not work, just open hatch and leave a piece of bait there a day, new boat odor will be gone. However removing the bait smell will be much harder to do.

If you can't find anything else to get rid of that terrible "new smell" why don't you just open a bag of chips and scatter them inside the hull. Leave them there for several months and you will more than destroy any semblance to a new smell with the fragrant aroma of mold. After that you can use a mild solution of bleach to kill the mold and once again return an almost like new smell. I know because I'm guilty of all of the above.

If there's one thing i can't tolerate it's that atrocious new boat stench .

If i release the bungee in an attempt to open the hatch, i expect to be immediately bowled over where my eyes start watering and dry heaving commences. Shortly thereafter i'm usually rendered unconscious .

I will actually pay my Hobie dealer extra to experience this event and would love for Hobie to consider it as standard equipment.

Spill some GULP liquid in there and you will quickly miss that new kayak smell.
A buddy of mine used our Oasis and left an open pack of Gulp Shrimp inside the hull for a whole weekend. That was six months ago and I swear I can still smell it.
