The house cleaning could start at the top or the bottom, and they'd get the same guy. :) I did make a mistake last night (during our website transition) which caused the issues you saw this morning. I apologize for that.

I take the performance and usability of our websites quite seriously, so if you have any concerns along these lines in the future, don't hesitate to send an e-mail to weboperations [at] hobiecat [dot] com. Certain types of problems don't trigger the automated checks that we have in place.

P.S. I actually noticed while writing this that the size of the text input field is messed up. That will be fixed in the near future.

IT isn't an easy job. Personally I'm thankful that Hobie has been offering this free service to their fans for about a decade now. Change happens. There aren't many websites online that go unchanged over that length of time. Are there a few bugs in the initial days of change? Sure there are, but I think some patience is in order. I agree with IndyWave, the vast majority of us users really appreciate the work that has been put into creating and maintaining these forums. The IT department never receives compliments when things work flawlessly for years and years in a row. Let's cut them some slack as they make the updates, and fix the bugs.

Thanks for your work Bill.

Bill works his tail off to keep Hobie Cat up and running. Not like we have this huge IT staff or something. Sorry, can't fire "the" department :)

Now... as far as American Airlines IT department goes... I'll bet some heads roll there.

It is great to see such passion about our website and forums though. Wow!

Wow, I think that was a bit harsh. I hope that you were joking.

Bill: The new site looks fresh and clean - great job!

Hey all, if you are still seeing issues, try this:
    PC: Ctrl+F5
Mac: Cmd (Apple)+R, or Cmd (Apple)+Shift+R, or Cmd+Opt+R (depending on browser)
Either: Try clearing your cache/temp internet files via your options menu

Still having issues? Share the OS and browser and maybe we can help further.

That sounds like the perfect quote for a signature to me...

Only gripe with new format I have is when I click the "view 1st unread post" button next to a thread. The top of the new post is hidden by the new banner up top. Small gripe but sorta annoying having to scroll down to read the new post.

That is a bit odd... Via cell phone? Or desktop? Here is what that looks like on my system in Chrome and then Explorer.

Great new forums skin. The slowness is just your browser, not anyone at Hobies fault. Browsers don't download new graphics every time you visit a page, they save the the big stuff, it's called cashing. So when a new website rolls out it takes your browser (ie, chrome, firefox..) a while to figure it out. Hitting f5 or ctrl+f5 or shift f5 will fix you up, or hold ctrl + shift and click refresh.

Im on a desktop running chrome...if you click that lil yellow button to the left of "using my pa14 in shallow water" (in your pic) which will take you to your 1st unread post thats when the banner covers some of the new post. I'd post a screenshot but Photobucket does not like me today. It's not a biggie just something I thought should be pointed out. I run a phpbb forum for my local 4x4 club http://www.oregoncruisers.com (shameless plug! ) and know that it can be a pita at times!

I see that now. Scrolls down to the body of the text, so the logo and bar sometimes covers the subject line and author info. Is that adjustable?
