I need to repair a neoprene foot rail and the original Stabond contact cement is past it's expiration date on the can by several years. I can't find Stabond locally but the DAP/weld wood type is available. Will it work as well as Stabond?

Thanks,

Mark

I would open that can of stabond up, see if you can stir it up good, get that top hardened layer off out of the way, then test glue something with it if you still can.
I've had (although a different compound) West System epoxy that was good even after 20 years of original purchase, that worked great right up to the day I finished it off.
I'm not sure about that dap/weld wood type, but I do know that 3m makes some good contact cement/glue You can buy it in can/brush form (probably better way to go) or spray can form (get heavy industrial) Most likely found at Auto parts stores that also sell auto body supplies, some hardwares, maybe homedepot or lowes etc. I've used 3m products on my side rails of my tramp, to install carpet, works good for me.

Weldwood in the Red Can will work just fine.

Weldwood is brand Hobie now sells in the catalogue.

Any solvent base contact cement will work the same.
