News Flash! I just received an application to reactivate Hobie Fleet 53 in Charleston, SC :D. It'll take about a month before they receive their charter and it's official. There's some great enthusiasm brewing down there. Congratulations to Commodore Nick Bostic. His contact information will soon be published with all the other Fleet info on the HCANA site.

It's easy to start a fleet. If you've got a group of sailors that you like to sail with you should consider starting or reactivating a fleet. It's a great way to put some cohesion in your group and build some camaraderie. You can find the fleet application on the HCANA website, http://www.hcana.hobieclass.com/. Click on the "Documents & Rules" tab and then scroll down to "IHCA Fleet Charter Application".

Kudos! We got our fleet our fleet going again early last year and had our first regatta this year. It's fun introducing or reminding people what Hobies are. Good luck!

Central coast of California, essentially the giant void between LA and San Francisco, lots of ocean and big wind sailing. We've been advertising fun sails and soliciting the local yacht clubs and colleges for sailing recruits. We've got a bunch of interest but it's difficult getting people to go from crew to getting their own.
