Thanks. I'm sure folks would appreciate that. Perfect for trips to the sandbar.

I also have a question about how people are attaching these. Optikid, you could probably answer this, how did you attach to the mast head? I may be borrowing a friend's gopro for my next sail.

couple ways you could do it, the way i did it was use a flat adhesive mount on the plastic head of the sail, but you can put it on the mast the same way and it might not move as much. you might be able to use a suction cup mount but i have not tried yet.

Thanks for the tips, I think my friend has the suction cup mount. And yeah, I was wondering how you kept it on there after the pitchpole.

Last year I started working on a pivoting mount for my Gopro, I got tired of seeing the horizon and water tilt while my boat stayed flat. I first used an adjustable mop handle with a bolt at the end, hanging from that I used a piece of cutting board to mount the camera to. Mop handle went from dolphin striker, past bottom of the forestay After a couple of takes, it worked out real well. you can see the results on youtube
This season I've upped my game and have made two different styles that will attach to the forestay. I have been able to try them out yet but suspect they will work as well if not better and will be easier to store when not in use.

wow, pivoting mount is great!

I use a plastic bag, and roll it around the briddle wire where it connects to the bow, so i can attach the go pro with the pipe clamp of the go pro.

Carl is a great guy to deal with........ He came up with these mounts for PWC's and other uses. Pricy but does the job.

i will try to hang the camera to the forestay using a rope and to hang a weight on the gopro also using a rope, so maybe the weight will balance the camera - i will make some pictures.

Lets bring back this thread.

I'd like to hang my gopro upside down from the forstay and find a way so it can pivet when I hike. I want the horizon to stay level in the frame.

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
Next step: how to you hang your wind vein and your camera!?

I have a couple of versions that work great. Easy to make too. I'll load some photos on my website tonight.
buxtonsimport.com, under catamaran repair page. You can see what the video looks like on youtube: buxtonbb

As you can see these are pretty simple to make. I've used Starboard as my plastic but lexan would work or maybe any cutting board from wal-mart, as long as the sticky mount holds. The all black one is plastic welded and longer to get the camera further away from the wires but the other is simple to make using a shroud adjuster and stud. I also recommend going to a 9 hole adjuster at your forestay to give you the extra space to mount it. I've glued carpeting onto large washers and use a nylon locknut to adjust the pivot tension. You will need to put your wind indicator in from the back side and bend it to be straight, I have two, one for camera use and one for not. Although I've never had a failure, I still use a tether from the camera housing to the bridle wires just in case.

I'll have a new style cooler/stowage compartment that's great for the 14/16's for sale soon for anyone interested, it's being tested by others for R&D right now.
