I am looking to buy a Revo 11 and have read some excellent reviews that encourage me but I have a question that I hope this topic will help me with. There will be times that I expect to use the Revo on rivers where the depth and rapids will make using the Mirage drive impractical. How does the Revo paddle? Can it be paddled without using the rudder? Reaching down to move the rudder control will lose a stroke at least.
Thanks.

I sing praises on the Revo11 all day long, but you found my kryptonite: it paddles like crap without the rudder.

If you leave the rudder down and centered, it paddles just fine. You do not need to use the rudder to steer. Just leave it centered, which is the problem - there is not necessarily any way to lock it in the middle. Generally it will stay that way on its own, but not if you're constantly bouncing it off rocks or bottom.

Thanks for your replies. I don't think it will work for what I want to do. I'm looking at other options.
