My sons and I, hunt and fish for just about everything, good time right. I'm questioning whether to go with the PA 12 or 14, my sons and I are 6ft and over 200 pounds with big labs that go everywhere with us , especially Duck hunting, which I think the PA would be perfect for. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a no brainer. Bigger would definitely be better. 14 all the way. :D

Talk to your local Hobie shop, ask about trying both. You and your sons should spend as much time as possible trying and comparing . Also consider how you are going to transport them. The 14 are wider so it may be harder to transport more than one. You will be happy with either one.

I really like the extra storage space on the PA14. I like hitting the water with plenty of gear and the front hatch is a great place to store it. 14 foot kayaks are also easier to pedal.......

Buy them both. Use the 14 to haul gear that the 12 won't be able to. But if you want them to be the same...stick with the 14.

Happy Hunting! 8)

It's one of the hardest decisions to make! My brother and I both just bought 2 pro anglers. He ended up going with the PA12 because of the size and weight issue as he is 6'1 175 lbs. I on the other hand am 6'1 265 lbs, so obviously I went with the PA14. We both love our Hobie's and are happy with our decisions. We both wanted to try the other one's PA to see if we made the right choice. I felt that the PA12 was easier to peddle due to the weight but I felt that the overall size wasn't enough for me, but if it was my only option I definitely would have been happy with it. My brother said my PA14 was easier to peddle. I don't know how bc I felt that his was. We both have the Trailex trailers to move our boats around, we tried moving them around with it on the roof of my durango and his on his car but they are pretty difficult to load and unload by yourself. So I hope I was able to give you some insight to help make your decision easier. Good luck and congrats as you will be happy no matter which one you get.
