I took my son out fishing on an outback. A little choppier than I would have liked for his first time out...especially since it was saltwater. The outbacks are so stable that the amas kit was unnecessary but definitely provided great comfort for his initial trip. The problem was after a while, I was more concerned about him unhooking his own fish or taking too long to untangle gear than I was him tipping. But with the Amas kit, it made it very difficult to "raft up" along side of him to help with the fishing.

He is about average if not slightly smaller in stature. With the seat on the closest pegs and mirage drive setting at 1, he could get about 2/3 of a stroke in.

Still we managed to cruise a mile out and a mile back along the shorelines. And for the saftey police (which I am one of...) he is wearing a PFD under his windbreaker! Safety first!

The good news is that he won't remember how big those fish were, only that he caught them on a fishing trip with his dad.
Keep him in a boat wetting lines.
Nice work dad!

Thanks all! My kids love to fish and these Hobies are simply ideal. He will definitely be stepping up to more challenging fish in the next year or two!
