Have a 1984 H16 with a crack in the hull bottom about two feet behind front post, port side. I began the repair process by drilling a couple small holes in the crack and then probed the inner hull with a small screw driver. Was surprised to find something about two inches above the hull bottom that has some vertical movement when pushed with the screw driver. Any ideas what this is?

Thanks.

Yes indeed it was the floatation foam. Upon opening the crack that was confirmed. Thanks for the response.
