Getting an AI and assume it will come with standard-size drive fins. We have an '07 Outback with turbo fins. Can we swap the Mirage Drives between the two boats? Thanks!

Yes, although the AI comes with Turbo ST fins. Mine did.

Great! It's been too long since I visited my Hobie dealer! In fact, having just moved to KY, am going to Paducah to meet THAT Hobie dealer. We're ordering the '13 AI. Thanks, you made my day!

I do not believe you can use an older Mirage drive(V1) with the twist-cam locking mechanism into a new (V2) drive well with the snap-in connectors ... or vice versa

Old Drives can be used as long as they have been updated with a new style drum shaft - if they are the old style it can spin while you're pedaling and that will unlock the click&Go locking device - luckily it's a simple swap and very inexpensive - to order a new drum shaft call your dealer toll free 1800hobie49 (part number 81090001)

Good to know I can modify with the part from Hobie. Thanks! Also, good to know that AI comes with turbo fins already. In the old days, you had to upgrade to get 'em. At some point may have to use all those extra Mirage Drives we have. Thanks all!

I am having an issue with the new mirage drive fitting into my older kayak because of the guide pins that are in place. You should make sure your old kayak will allow for the new drive.

You need to remove the guide pin for use in older boats. Either twist and pull out the older version or cut off with a hack saw or cutters. File to remove sharp edges.
