Anyone know if putting carpeting over the cradles will create any issues? I am getting a few ugly rub spots on the cradles and the kayak from highway miles and vibrations (recently did a 8 hour each way haul). The mounts are 67 inches per spec so I am assuming the rubbing is normal and am trying to find a way to reduce it.

Btw hobie replaced my cracked cradles. Awesome customer service.

I have the older Cradles that Hobie use to sell. They came with carpet on them and I have no marks on the PA from countless trips. I would assume that you could add carpet to yours also. The carpet on mine is the type used on boat trailer bunks.

I use strips of 10mm matt made from recycled tires. I found it at Tractor Supply. No rubbing.
