what is the best way to fix severe cracking in the gelcoat of my deck(H16)? I am assuming I want to fix this because leaving it as is may cause water to get into the fiberglass and delaminate the layers? is this right?
my plan is to grind out the edges and bottom of the cracks to get a fresh surface, then refill the areas with gel coat. Is this nesiccary, or should I just fill the cracks as is with either gel coat, or a crack seaping sealant?

also, has anybody tried to get the non skid grid pattern into fresh gelcoat as it dries?
