There's a 1992 miracle 20 on my local Kijiji.

Catch is cracked mast and missing sails.

Can a mast be welded (professionally) and what am I into for a set of sails?

Welding? It depends on where the crack is. If it's anywhere but near the ends of the extrusion, then no.

Welding will remove the temper on the aluminum in the heat affected zone, reducing its strength by more than half.

New masts are no longer available. The extrusion die is broken and Hobie has no plans to replace it that I'm aware of. You'd need to find a used one.

Sails? Again it depends - new OEM will be very $$$$. Used ones not so much, but it depends on how much they've been used. Non-OEM sails will still set you back about at least $1000.

Got some pics from the guy.

Appearantly "cracked" translates roughly to "broken completley in half" lol

For the price the guy is asking, given the price of the parts to repair it, ... it does not seem like such a great deal.

Ill look around a bit more for a used mast and sails, but I may just keep looking to find somthing a little better / complete.
