Does anybody know who took my wind? Have you seen it? Please be on the lookout for it......... You can borrow it if you find it, but please return it.

That's the nice thing about wind - you can't own it nor use it up. All you can do is borrow it for awhile and then the next guy, and the next, and the next, gets to use it.

'Course, it doesn't always come around when you want it to.

I think it came here to the Maritimes. Seems someone flicked the switch this week and instantly turned it from summer to fall here. I've been depressed all week because it means that I'll soon have to take the boat up from the shore as the winds turn north and drive the tides in further. Still lots of trailer weather though, but the convenience for evening sails goes away.

Must have been in Michigan the last week. I had 3 people on the 18, 2 on the wings and one on the tramp. Took her into the "green room" several times. Lots of solid water over the boat back to the rear crossbar. Even the EPOs were cavitating. Told my brother and buddy that if we broke it the wife would buy me a new boat. We had fun that night after work. (no new boat though).

Well hurry up and pass on the love. Actually had some decent wind yesterday. Not enough to fly but enough to have fun.

Guys, I found it, I found the wind today. 13-15mph. Started out real gusty mid afternoon the. Settled down later in the day. Woo Hoo. But my feet froze the first part. Very wet ride

I'm pretty sure I found it a couple of weeks back when I dumped sailing in heavy wind warnings. Gusts up to 40 are more than I should be tackling at 61 years. One leg has a goose egg and the other got a racing stripe tattoo'd on down the shin when we went over. At any rate, as long as your wind isn't broken you should be OK.

HOG, for the past 3 months, we have not had more than 10mph, most of the time 6-8........ First half of the afternoon a buddy was with me, he was trapped out a good bit of the time, first time on my boat for anybody to be trapped out. Gusty and tricky,

When we were racing with the Jackson YC last Sat., NWS reported max. sustained 17 w/ max. gust to 22. Pretty sporty, especially single-handed. The forecast for Sun. on Windmapper was (no joke) 2 with gusts to 1! (And I'm not sure we even got that!)

Gusty is tricky; I don't know where my skill went. I used to be out on the trap all the time. Not since I started again this season. High winds that used to be my favorite are now scary. I'm teaching my kids (22+ y/o) how to sail so I'm not quite ready to have them trap in fluky winds. We'll get there as the boat gets in better condition as well.
