I Know I can't be the first to ask.
I met a guy today at the Lagoon that had a '13 PA. The rudder control is awesome on that thing. So I Don't want to spend $85.00 and loose three rod holders but I am willing to spend a few bucks on an upgrade like that.
Is it possible? My current control is AWFUL. That is one thing I can say I did like about my old outback.

I spent the money and upgraded steering on my two 2010 PAs. I didn't lose but one rod holder spot and I never found it really effective to put more than two on a side anyway. The steering handle will clear a rod on the upper slot to my surprise.

I highly recommend this upgrade.

There is a kit to move steering from the seat to the rail position.

Shown in the parts diagrams as 84506201 STEERING (PRO A) REVERSIBLE ASSY
KIT INCLUDES ALL PARTS TO REPLECATE 2011 STEERING ON OLDER MODELS

Page 50 upper left-ish of the current catalog.

For 2014 we added a BOA tension adjustment feature too. That may become a kit this winter.
