We only just now started shipping boats with new seats (beginning of September). Most reports I have heard have been more positive than this, so I certainly will be interested in other reviews. The new ones have much more padding all around. The only thing I have noted on the new seats is the reduced "wrap around" feel. The padding sets you a bit more forward. I pedaled a new Revolution around for about 3 hours on Monday, so I have had time in the new boat / seat. Maybe it is a matter of getting the seat and pedals adjusted on the new boat. Got to find the right places for each. I also noted a small amount of strap slippage at first, but it seemed to hold fine once I settled in. Never felt there was slippage after the first few moments. I was wearing one of our Hi-Back life vests, so that did not interfere with the feel.

I don't know how the old seat was but I was out yesterday for about 5 hours, love the seat on my Revolution.

I just noted the title of the first post... <<Comfort Factor of New (strapped) vs. Older (plug-in) Seats>>

There is no change to the seat in regard to the plug-in feature. All Hobie Mirage kayaks come with plug-in seats. Only paddle kayaks come with strap-in seats.

There are a few topics running about the '07 Outback, but the basic changes are a new bottom and a revised tank / cargo well.

Oops--mybad. I received some bad intel re the Hobie seat plugs. Matt is absolutely correct--only the non-Mirage drive strapped seats (as on the Quest) lack the seat plugs. The Mirage drive yaks have the seat plugs--in fact they have 2X the number of seat plug receptacles in the 2007 models, so the plug-in seats can be set up fore or aft for different sized folks.
