 Post subject: Seal Lube

Tried to SEARCH but couldn't find answer. What type of lub/grease should be used on hatch rubber seals.

Silicone, so the rubber seals do not swell up.
I use a thin layer of dielectric grease or plumbers silicone grease is good too.....just do not put it on too thick....you can always wipe the excess off with a paper towel.

Super Lube is a synthetic food grade lubricant that is used in the plumbing industry on seals and O-rings. It is non-toxic to the eco system and highly resistant to washing off. That is what I would use. You can buy it in small tubes at many sports stores like Sports Authority as well as at hardware and many box stores. It never becomes gummy like other lubricants.
